“A View to a City and an Ocean: Son of James Bond Films’ Producer Lists Sunset Strip Hilltop Estate for $15 Million With Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties”
June 16, 2015 in Latest News

LOS ANGELES – James Bond would feel right at home in the hilltop estate offered at $15 million by Tony Broccoli, whose father produced most of the motion pictures about the fictional British spy.

The 6,800-square-foot villa features European-inspired architecture, has five bedrooms and six and a half baths, and is sited on a double lot overlooking the Sunset Strip. It is at the end of a “celebrity cul-de-sac” where past neighbors include Britney Spears, Britney Murphy, and Ryan Phillippe.

Two high-profile teams from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties offices have joined forces to represent the hilltop estate with ocean and city views available from nearly every room at 1892 Rising Glen Road.

Broccoli and his wife, Rika, have retained Markus Canter and Cristie St. James team in the Beverly Hills office, and George Salazar and Dennis Kamrany team in the Santa Monica office.

Canter and St. James are Luxury Properties Directors for the brokerage, known for their expertise in representing homes of distinction and architectural significance on the Sunset Strip, as well as in the West Hollywood and Beverly Hills areas. Salazar and Kamrany have built an outstanding reputation by marketing the homes of some of the most affluent residents of Los Angeles.

The estate’s other highlights include a grand living room with a magnificent fireplace and three monumental French doors that showcase the view; a chef’s kitchen with stunning white Carrara marble counters, a built-in breakfast area; and a private owner’s wing with dual bathrooms and two walk-in closets with custom cabinetry.

The panoramic terraces have a swimmer’s pool and spa. The compound includes a tournament-sized tennis court, gazebo with traditional pagoda roof, and separate guest house.

The Broccolis employed Smith & Firestone Associates, one of the nation’s premier interior-design teams, to perform an extensive remodel of the property, which was featured in Luxe Interiors + Design Magazine.

Tony Broccoli’s late father, film producer Albert R. “Cubby” Broccoli, founded Eon Productions in London in 1961 with producer Harry Saltzman. Broccoli had long been interested in novelist Ian Fleming’s spy series about Bond, or Agent 007. Soon after acquiring the movie rights, Broccoli and Saltzman produced “Dr. No,” the first film in the series. Eon Productions remains a family-run business.
